BOI Reporting Requirements Extended Again

February 28, 2025

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has officially extended the March 21, 2024 deadline for beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting—but don’t relax just yet. A new deadline will be announced by March 21.

This update follows a Texas court decision lifting the pause on the Corporate Transparency Act’s filing requirements. While legal challenges continue, companies must prepare to comply with BOI reporting rules.

FinCEN is also considering more changes, and Congress is discussing a possible extension to January 1, 2026, for many businesses. In the meantime, BOI reports can be filed online for free at fincen.gov/boi.

Stay tuned for updates as this continues to evolve!
