Luka-StanicMeet our summer intern, Luka Stanic, a rising senior at Hillsdale College majoring in Accounting. Originally from Chicago, IL, Luka chose ShindelRock for its collaborative environment and the opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals eager to share guidance and career insight.

Drawn to the variety and practicality of the accounting profession, Luka is eager to gain hands-on experience with accounting systems and software as he prepares for the upcoming busy season. He looks forward to deepening his understanding of the field, strengthening his technical skills, and exploring the many career paths that accounting offers.

Q: How did you choose ShindelRock, and what characteristics of a good place to intern did you see in ShindelRock?

A: I was interested in working somewhere where staff would be readily accessible and happy to offer guidance, advice, and share their own career experiences. Additionally, the size of the firm has given me the opportunity to gain exposure to a wider variety of tasks and specializations than may otherwise have been the case in other practices.

A: During my internship I expect I’ll be working on client records, ensuring everything is up to date for the busy season.

Q: What do you hope to come away with at the end of the season?

A: Exposure to a variety of accounting programs and information systems, as well as insights and advice from the staff here at ShindelRock.

Q: What drew you to study accounting, and what makes you excited about the profession?

A: The wide variety of fields and specialties open to me once I complete my studies, and the practical applications of the accounting skillset are both strong draws for me.

A: I am a Chicago native, studying Accounting at Hillsdale College in MI, and plan on sitting for the CPA exams upon graduation in May of 2026.
