Depending on your payroll period, you may have to adjust wage rates during the period around Sept. 1. For instance, if your pay period runs August 25th –September 7th and employees are paid minimum wage, they will have to report two different pay rates for that pay period: $7.40 from August 25th-August 31, and $8.15 from Sept. 1st – 7th.
