The Detroit News has a good article which shows how a sample of 8 different taxpayers would fare under Snyder’s proposed tax structure versus the structure in place today.  It shows that most taxpayers would pay more in taxes under the new system, with retirees with pensions, and lower income taxpayers who currently qualify for the earned income credit, getting the biggest percentage change.  The middle income examples were the only ones who seemed to have a reduction to their tax bill.
