Like my passion for taxes and accounting, I fell hard and fast for the sport of rock climbing. After climbing indoors, I was encouraged by one of my partners David Shindel, an avid outdoorsman himself, to “try the real thing”. It was love at first climb! And I found that scaling the side of a mountain used a lot of the same skills I bought to my job as a CPA. In both roles I have to be mindful of the details and focus on both short-term and long-term planning, and to always look at the big picture. And when climbing I rely on my own proficiency but have partners to double-check my gear and support me through the climb. My partners at ShindelRock provide a similar type of support role in my work world.
I love taking on new challenges and experiences in both my career and my personal life. As a CPA I’ve expanded into doing valuation and litigation support work. And outside of work, I’ve expanded my personal adventures to include white water rafting, archery, Warrior Dash obstacle races, and I have recently become an avid Crossfitter (I just increased my deadlift to 235 lbs!).
I love to experience new and challenging things both in and out of the office, and I bring my passion to everything I do.
So CPA I am! Boring I am NOT!
