As kids head back to school, money management lessons are also in session

As the new school year starts, the children are not the only ones that need to go back to school.   Although, children are often woefully uneducated in money matters, it appears they are not the only ones.   According to a survey commissioned by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”) “three in 10 parents never talk to their children about money or have discussed money with their children just one time.”  Both the AICPA and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (“MACPA”) have websites that address financial literacy and provide great educational tools.  The websites address money matters for all ages not just children.

Check out these websites.

From the MACPA for all ages:

From the MACPA geared toward 25-34 year olds but can really benefit all ages:

Please discuss money with your children, pass it on so we can all plan for our financial futures.
