Karla is a manager who joined ShindelRock in 2009. She handles all types of clients with a concentration on the medical profession and high net worth individuals. Her responsibilities include tax planning and preparation, accounting, financial statement preparation and preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Karla graduated from Oakland University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountant. She is a member of the Detroit Young Professionals organization and volunteers with the Accounting Aid Society, an IRS-sponsored program that provides free income tax return preparation to low income families. In addition, she has volunteered for the “JA in a Day” program in which the MACPA partners with Junior Achievement USA to teach financial literacy skills to Kindergarten through 12th grade students.
“Sometimes accounting, taxes and planning are not at the forefront of an existing business experiencing a large growth spurt or a young start-up focused on taking their first big leap. Karla has the unique ability to tackle these situations with the persistence, strength and knowledge needed to enable a client to keep their focus, knowing they will continue to have the information they need to meet their compliance and management needs.” ~ Mark Hughes, Partner, ShindelRock
